About this Project

DRAC Mechanical needed a brand story film that could communicate the scale and capability of the business as it continued to grow within Australia’s mission-critical power generation and data centre market.

Operating across multiple facilities in Pakenham and Traralgon, DRAC brings together engineering, Australian manufacturing and specialist generator solutions under one business.

The aim was to create a film that went beyond simply showing the finished product, communicating the people, expertise and processes behind DRAC and positioning the company as a trusted large-scale generator solutions partner.

The challenge

DRAC operates within a highly technical industry where much of the value provided to clients happens behind the scenes.

The film needed to:

  • Communicate complex engineering and manufacturing capability clearly

  • Demonstrate the scale of DRAC’s Victorian operations

  • Position the business credibly within the growing data centre sector

  • Showcase Australian manufacturing and in-house technical expertise

  • Represent both leadership and operational teams authentically

  • Balance technical capability with the people and culture behind the business

It also needed to speak to a technically knowledgeable audience without becoming overly technical or feeling like a traditional corporate video.

The solution

WildAcre Studio developed a story-led brand film built around DRAC’s people, manufacturing environments and engineering capability.

Production took place over three days across DRAC’s facilities in Pakenham and Traralgon.

The approach included:

  • Interviews with leadership, engineering and operational team members

  • Cinematic coverage across multiple manufacturing facilities

  • Welding, fabrication and generator enclosure production

  • Fuel system and electrical integration

  • Engineering and CAD environments

  • Testing, quality assurance and final assembly

  • Drone and exterior coverage demonstrating the scale of the operation

  • People-focused footage capturing the team behind the technical capability

Rather than relying heavily on scripted messaging, the interviews were designed to feel conversational and natural, allowing the story to be told by the people who know the business best.

The resulting film combined these perspectives with detailed operational footage to communicate both the technical depth and human side of DRAC.

The impact

The completed film gives DRAC a flagship piece of content for communicating its capability within the Australian power generation and mission-critical infrastructure market.

The project helped:

  • Position DRAC as a sophisticated Australian engineering and manufacturing business

  • Demonstrate the scale and breadth of its in-house capability

  • Strengthen its positioning within the data centre sector

  • Put DRAC’s people and technical expertise at the centre of the brand

  • Make a complex service offering easier for prospective clients and stakeholders to understand

  • Create a premium long-form brand asset with ongoing value across multiple platforms

Importantly, the film doesn't just show what DRAC manufactures. It communicates the engineering, processes and people required to deliver generator solutions for some of Australia's most demanding environments.
